Ch 27: The Scumbag’s Daily Wife-Doting Life [QT]

At the Golden Magnolia Awards venue.

Song Wufu had just won the Golden Magnolia Award for Best Supporting Actress, and on top of that, she had personally watched her longtime rival Su Qingyu’s scandal erupt, sending her fleeing through the rain like she had lost her soul. Internally, Song Wufu felt immensely pleased with herself.

After leaving backstage, the director and several lead actors suggested finding somewhere to celebrate for her.

She was in an excellent mood, so after thinking about it for a moment, she agreed.

The gathering was held at a private club.

Song Wufu knew perfectly well what the director had in mind, but recently she had become interested in another man and hadn’t succeeded in getting him yet, so she didn’t want any complications. After drinking until she was about seventy percent drunk, she called for her assistant and left.

The director offered to escort her out, but Song Wufu waved him off. Barely steady on her feet, she left the club and found a nearby hotel room to rest in.

When she woke up the next morning, she finally learned about Xie Li publicly announcing his relationship.

“Why didn’t anyone inform me?!” Song Wufu’s face darkened.

The male assistant looked utterly confused. Seeing her expression, he immediately remembered some of this little ancestor’s past behavior and carefully explained:

“Sister Fu, you were resting, so we didn’t dare disturb you. Besides, Xie Li and Su Qingyu announcing their relationship had nothing to do with our team, so I made the decision myself not to bother you about it.”

Song Wufu had always harbored her own little schemes. As long as she and Xie Li had not officially confirmed their relationship, she would never tell her assistant or manager anything regarding her involvement with him.

Because of that, when Xie Li publicly announced his relationship, not a single person thought to inform her.

But that did not stop Song Wufu from venting her anger on others.

Hearing her assistant’s explanation, she became even more furious. She stood up and kicked him hard in the leg, scolding:

“Do you have a pig brain?! Even if it had nothing to do with me, you still should’ve told me something this important!”

The assistant looked baffled. Gritting his teeth to suppress the pain, he stayed silent and lowered his head while listening to her rage.

Seeing his unconvinced expression only irritated Song Wufu more.

“Get out! Seeing you annoys me!”

The assistant lowered his head and walked out of the room. The moment he stepped outside, he let out a long breath, spat in the direction of the room, and walked away with a dark expression.

Inside the room, Song Wufu paced back and forth, unwilling to believe it.

“How is this possible? He was obviously already tired of that boring woman…”

Song Wufu had absolute confidence in her own charm. She refused to believe Xie Li and Su Qingyu had gotten back together.

After calming herself with a deep breath, she took out her phone and called Xie Li.

The instant the call connected, Song Wufu immediately changed her tone into something sweet and delicate.

“Xie Li, I…”

“Sorry, the number you dialed is currently on another call! Sorry…”

“……”

Song Wufu paused, glanced at her phone suspiciously, frowned slightly, and suppressed her thoughts without overthinking it.

Ten minutes later, she called Xie Li again.

“Sorry, the number you dialed is currently on another call! Sorry…”

Song Wufu’s expression turned ugly. A vague sense of foreboding rose in her heart, but she still refused to give up and dialed the number a third time.

“Sorry, the number you dialed is currently on another call! Sorry…”

Smash!

The phone was hurled violently against the wall, shattering into pieces.

Song Wufu’s face twisted with rage. She took out another phone, suppressed her fury, logged into Weibo, and began reading the comments.

The more she read, the wider her eyes became.

How was this possible?

Xie Li had really publicly announced his relationship, and in such a direct way at that?

Song Wufu’s face flushed red. The elegant, pure image she usually maintained as an innocent jade-girl celebrity had completely disappeared. She collapsed heavily onto the bed and ground her teeth viciously.

“Su Qingyu…”

·

At the same time, Xie Li was busy contacting someone to arrange visas.

“I’ll pull some strings for you. Give it three to five days, and I’ll hand the visas and plane tickets directly to you.”

“Good. Brother, I owe you this favor.”

Xie Li thanked the other party and smilingly hung up the phone. Turning around, he looked at the blank-faced Su Qingyu.

“Why are you staring at me? Aren’t you going to finish breakfast?”

“We’re really going to Greece?”

Xie Li nodded and asked unhappily:

“What else? Don’t tell me you don’t want to travel abroad with me?”

Su Qingyu froze.

“But the situation here still hasn’t been fully settled, and your phone still hasn’t been recovered…”

Just thinking about how Xie Li’s missing phone was still out there somewhere, with all its contents possibly in the hands of someone malicious, made her panic. How could she possibly relax enough to go traveling?

“I’ve already remotely wiped everything in the phone. Nothing else will happen.” Xie Li grabbed her hand and pressed it against his cheek, gently comforting her. Then he curled his lips into a cold smile. “As for the person who leaked your photos, don’t worry about them. Later, I’ll give them a very big gift.”

“You know who did it?” Su Qingyu frowned and stared intently at his expression.

Xie Li immediately looked displeased.

“You’re suspecting me again?”

“No, no!” Su Qingyu hurriedly explained, afraid of making him angry. Softly, she added, “Going to Greece sounds nice too. I’ve never even been abroad before. I’ll go home and pack later, then wait for your call.”

Only then did Xie Li finally look satisfied.

After watching Su Qingyu finish breakfast, he tossed aside the plate and drove her home.

The places they lived weren’t far apart, only about twenty minutes away by car. But the traffic in Magic City was terrible, so the trip took almost twice as long.

“Go upstairs. Once the visas are ready, I’ll come pick you up.”

After saying that, Xie Li watched Su Qingyu head upstairs. Leaning against the hood of his car, he blanked out for a while before suddenly remembering something. He got back into the car and drove toward the company.

……

“What did you just say?”

The album currently in preparation had suddenly been halted because Xie Li wanted to go traveling. Hearing that reason, Han Ming felt like he was about to go insane.

“Young master, I’m begging you, please show some mercy and finish recording the album before leaving, alright? The studio still needs time for post-production anyway. The album can wait until after you come back to release.”

Xie Li raised a hand to cut him off.

“Shut up first. I have something to say.”

“What is it?” Han Ming froze.

Xie Li casually laid out the entire situation involving Song Wufu.

“……Wait. I don’t think I understood any of that.” Han Ming looked utterly lost. “You were photographed together with Song Wufu?”

“Yeah.”

“N-No, hold on. Since when were you involved with Song Wufu? Didn’t you just publicly announce your relationship with Tianchen Entertainment’s Su Qingyu?”

Xie Li revealed a troubled, irritated expression.

“She latched onto me.”

Han Ming reacted quickly. His body trembled guiltily as he hunched over and moved closer.

“She knows your identity?”

“Most likely. Otherwise she wouldn’t have come after me.” Xie Li shamelessly smeared Song Wufu’s reputation before abruptly changing topics. “Anyway, being harassed this badly by her is all because you, as my manager, failed your responsibilities and exposed my identity. So what’s wrong with me wanting some time off to heal my wounded heart?”

Han Ming: “……”

Wounded heart?

There were so many things wrong with that sentence he didn’t even know where to start. The young master’s skin was about as thick as a city wall. Anyone who got tangled up with him would be lucky not to get angered half to death.

But unfortunately, Xie Li was also the source of his income.

Suppressing the urge to complain, Han Ming obediently replied:

“I understand. I’ll report this matter to the company and contact Orange Entertainment. Don’t worry. Go abroad and have fun for a while. By the time you come back, things should mostly be over.”

Xie Li nodded in satisfaction.

Truthfully, bringing Su Qingyu abroad was mainly to avoid Song Wufu while secretly arranging for people to clean up the evidence in her possession. Who could blame him when the original owner had been such an idiot and left leverage in Song Wufu’s hands?

Just thinking about it made Xie Li sneer coldly.

Two weeks ago, the original owner had met with Song Wufu and been photographed by paparazzi. After paying money to buy the photos back, Song Wufu casually mentioned wanting to keep them as a souvenir, and the original owner had generously handed them over to her.

Ridiculous.

He had known how to use photos to destroy Su Qingyu, yet somehow possessed absolutely zero caution himself.

There was a saying: stupid and vicious. It described the original owner perfectly. And now Xie Li had to clean up the mess he left behind.

If Su Qingyu hadn’t trusted him so completely, there was no way someone as foolish as the original owner could have deceived her so thoroughly and ruined her entire life.

Xie Li couldn’t help feeling sorry for Su Qingyu.

After pitying her for a while, he suddenly thought that since Su Qingyu had earned herself the nickname “Desperate Third Lady” after only two years in the industry because of how hard she worked, this was actually a good opportunity to take her out somewhere, let her rest, and strengthen their relationship.

……

Time passed in the blink of an eye.

While the company was still negotiating with Orange Entertainment, Xie Li and Su Qingyu had already boarded a plane overseas.

Santorini Island was located in the Aegean Sea of Greece. Originally it had been a ring-shaped cluster of islands, with the main island also named Santorini.

This island was the primary destination of their trip.

The two first flew to Dubai, then transferred onto another flight to Greece. Because Xie Li had reserved a villa on the island in advance, someone was waiting to receive them at the airport and escort them by boat to the island.

The moment they arrived, Su Qingyu became uneasy.

“Why did you book such a luxurious place?”

The villa Xie Li reserved was entirely white, perched on a seaside cliff. It contained an enormous bedroom, a bathing room, a kitchen, and every detail was filled with elegant Greek scenery. Everywhere one looked was breathtakingly beautiful. The private terrace occupied most of the space, facing the endless sea beneath blooming spring scenery. One glance was enough to tell it was absurdly expensive.

After the villa staff left, Su Qingyu asked worriedly:

“Xie Li… how much does one night here cost?”

Xie Li casually found a place to sit, gazing at the endless sapphire ocean in the distance. After thinking for a moment, he named a number.

Su Qingyu sucked in a sharp breath and clutched her head as she collapsed dramatically in front of him.

“I feel dizzy.”

Xie Li hurriedly caught her and settled her into a chair, asking anxiously:

“What’s wrong with you? Are you an idiot? If you felt unwell, why didn’t you say something earlier?”

Su Qingyu looked pitiful.

“One night costs so much money…”

Even after entering the entertainment industry, Su Qingyu still maintained relatively frugal habits. The cost of the room genuinely pained her.

With that amount of money, ordinary living expenses could probably last her two months.

Xie Li froze for a second before finally understanding. Unable to decide whether to laugh or cry, he rubbed her head.

“Don’t you have your husband here?”

Su Qingyu glanced up at him. She clearly wanted to say something, but in the end she swallowed it back and dragged her suitcase away to unpack.

“Why aren’t you saying anything?”

Su Qingyu sighed.

“There’s nothing to say.”

“You think I spend money recklessly?” Xie Li asked. Before she could answer, he directly handed over his wallet with both hands. “Fine, you can manage all my money then. Stop making that face already and smile for me. If you keep frowning, I’m going to get angry!”

Su Qingyu: “……”

She couldn’t help wanting to laugh.

Although these past few days Xie Li had constantly left her speechless, compared to the old Xie Li who was arrogant and never cared much about people, she seemed to like this version of him much more.

Back then… it was probably because Sister Lan had been too harsh, and Xie Li had been holding resentment in his heart, which was why he had treated her with indifference over the past two years.

Inside her heart, Su Qingyu had already found excuses for him.

She pushed the wallet back.

“I don’t want it. We’re not married, so I can’t take your money.”

Xie Li didn’t accept it back. Raising a brow lazily, he said:

“If you keep saying things like that, then I’ll just have to sleep with you so you can properly understand whether we have a relationship or not.”

“Shameless!”

Su Qingyu cursed softly before turning around and dragging her suitcase upstairs. Halfway up, one of the wheels got stuck against a decorative edge in the floor, and no matter how much she struggled, she couldn’t free it.

“Hahahahaha!”

Xie Li immediately burst into laughter so hard that Su Qingyu’s face turned red. Only after laughing enough did he walk over to help carry the suitcase upstairs into the room.

“So silly.”

Pressing her lips together, Su Qingyu stubbornly thought to herself that she definitely was not silly.
