Ch 171: The World’s Number One Resort

At 6:30 PM, Sky Forest officially opened, and the special global conference entrance was now accessible. Visitors lined up at the special entrance, and more than 30,000 tourists gathered at the main entrance of the skywalk. Other tourists either took the sky elevator or made their way to the entrance. From above, the entire prelude to the opening was a grand and magnificent sight.

“Oh my gosh, so many people! Are they all here for the opening ceremony?”

“Great Tang is even more impressive than what was shown online…”

The tourists waited patiently in line. During the wait, at the third entrance, two young men chatted as they walked forward.

Both were around 17 or 18 years old. One was about 1.9 meters tall, muscular, and exuded a sense of security. The other was about 1.7 meters tall and on the chubby side. They were both students from China’s Binghe University—Gao Jian and the fourth member of his dorm.

It was now vacation time at Binghe University. Gao Jian’s parents were traveling, so he didn’t want to go back home. The fourth dorm member, Dong Chun, had parents who were busy with business, and he also didn’t want to go back. The two kindred spirits eventually decided to join a travel group to Great Tang.

Since Gao Jian didn’t have enough money, Dong Chun fronted the cost, with the understanding that Gao Jian would pay him back when he had the means.

Money was no issue for Dong Chun.

A week earlier, Gao Jian wouldn’t have taken such a financial risk. However, the Great Tang VR Cinema had become a sensation at Binghe University, giving Gao Jian a glimpse of potential wealth.

Gao Jian’s curiosity about Great Tang Resort was so intense that he finally agreed to Dong Chun’s suggestion. The two had landed yesterday evening and were immediately taken to Sky Forest by their tour group.

They had spent the entire night in Sky Forest, along with tourists from around the world. The scene was comparable to the rush for the first incense during the Chinese New Year…

“Ticket inspection is starting.”

Lost in thought, they suddenly heard the announcement. The front of the line began moving as tourists completed ticket checks, and Gao Jian and Dong Chun entered. The special global conference passage opened, leading them directly to the sky elevator. The tracks of the sky elevator had been adjusted, and the final destination for all 100 elevators was now the Sky Castle.

The transparent elevators had turned into a spectrum of colors, and when you looked up, the elevator tracks resembled a cluster of rainbow umbrellas converging at a single point.

It was a breathtaking sight.

Gao Jian and Dong Chun stepped into elevator No. 23, which already had over twenty tourists inside. Once they were on, the elevator started.

“Eighty-five-degree incline…” Dong Chun commented while taking pictures. Due to the convergence at a single point, the elevator tilted, and it was his first time experiencing such a unique ride.

“A first-time experience,” Gao Jian nodded. They had arrived late and hadn’t yet had a chance to explore Great Tang, but seeing the sky island and the 2,000-meter-high elevator ride made it all worth it.

Gao Jian was filled with anticipation for the global opening. As he focused on taking photos, the sky elevator entered the base of the island, plunging them into darkness for ten seconds.

After the brief blackout, the view before them suddenly opened up.

“Where’s the Sky Castle? Did it just disappear?”

“My God, this is the largest opening venue I’ve ever seen.”

“Bamboo forest, maple trees, snowy mountains… Is this a simulation of all four seasons?”

Seeing the scene in front of them, everyone began chattering. A grassy clearing lay before them, surrounded by greenery, with a half-transparent giant dome at its center.

Calling it “transparent” was an exaggeration. More accurately, the dome’s color shifted between translucent pink, blue, and green, resembling a transparent base with various colors swirling around it.

The global conference was a worldwide focal point, and setting the main venue in colorful tones might have seemed out of place. However, Great Tang’s flowing lights didn’t feel tacky. Instead, under the bright sky, they radiated a soft and shining glow.

Almost instinctively, everyone took out their cameras to snap photos.

At the base of the dome were eight entrances, where Great Tang staff maintained order. Visitors only needed to follow the directional signs on their access cards to find the correct entrance and then proceed inside.

The dome could accommodate up to 100,000 visitors. Dong Chun had some connections and managed to secure two entrance tickets for the opening ceremony online.

Their seats were G88 and G89. Entering through entrance No. 3 was relatively straightforward.

After taking their photos and letting out a sigh of relief, the two headed into the venue.
