Ch 85: The Malevolent Monster Just Wants To Farm

Pain.

As soon as Jiang Lin regained consciousness, he felt as if his entire body had been subjected to death by a thousand cuts, every part of him was in unbearable agony. His body seemed to have flown into the air and then crashed heavily into the water. Crimson blood gushed out, instantly dyeing a vast area of the sea.

A childish yet arrogant voice rang loudly in his ears: “You say you are the noble third prince of the Dragon King? Then I will pluck your dragon scales! Pull out your dragon tendons! And turn you into a spineless, scaleless snake!”

This conversation was so familiar.

Jiang Lin opened his eyes wide, quickly summoning Qingluo and the other demons from the Jade Space. At the same time, the system’s information came through.

Sure enough, it was a mythological story that was all too familiar, yet it had some differences from the original.

For three years, no rain fell in Chentang Pass. Some suggested following ancient sacrificial rituals, offering a beautiful young bride to the Dragon King of the East Sea in hopes of praying for rain.

Ao Bing, the third prince of the Dragon King of the East Sea, heard the people’s prayers and curiously came to see the beautiful human bride. He thought it was a tribute from humans to him, but little did he know that the bride, for some unknown reason, possessed Daoist powers and injured Ao Bing.

Ao Bing, in a rage, killed the bride.

This scene, however, was witnessed by a fisherman catching fish by the sea, and the story spread. The rumors became twisted, portraying the third prince of the Dragon King as cruel and heartless, tearing the sacrificial bride to pieces, yet still failing to bring the rain.

Li Jing, the commander-in-chief of Chentang Pass, had a naturally gifted young son named Nezha, who was mischievous and fiercely hated evil. Upon hearing this, he went alone to the East Sea shore to challenge Ao Bing.

Ao Bing, proud and arrogant, could not tolerate being provoked by a child.

Nezha, being naturally hot-tempered, was further aggravated by Ao Bing’s sharp tongue. The conflict escalated, eventually leading to the story’s final outcome—where the third prince of the Dragon King was skinned and had his tendons pulled out, dying in the process.

After his death, his soul, filled with immense resentment, refused to reincarnate, falling into demonic ways, and was eventually killed by the celestial soldiers and generals sent by the heavens.

Ao Bing was the most talented among the younger generation of the East Sea Dragon Clan and the heir to the Dragon Sea. Naturally, the Dragon King would not let this slide.

As a result, Nezha paid the price, offering up his bones and flesh to his parents, and was eventually reincarnated by his master, Taiyi Zhenren, into a body of lotus flowers.

“Who are you people? Get out of my way!” Nezha’s eyes flashed with hostility as he looked at the few figures that suddenly appeared in front of him.

But the demons standing opposite him were even angrier.

The sir is still lying there; just looking at his injuries, you can imagine how much pain he is in!

Qingluo was beside him, taking care of him with medicine, while Huaiyin and the others had already developed a killing intent.

“Ugh… cough, cough…” Jiang Lin coughed out a mouthful of blood, enduring the pain that felt like a thousand cuts, and transformed into his human form. His current body was that of a small white dragon, and naturally, when he turned into human form, he was dressed in white.

However, at this moment, his white clothes were already stained red with blood.

“There are… many suspicious points in this matter.” Jiang Lin coughed again and said, “Huaiyin, Yin He, don’t hold back. However, spare his life and bind him. I have some questions to ask him.”

Nezha was indeed powerful, but Huaiyin was also a formidable demon, having followed Jiang Lin through so many worlds. Her demonic power had grown to an unimaginable level. Yin He was even more impressive, being a congenital spiritual treasure turned human, practically a human weapon.

As for Nezha, it was said that he originally took form from a spiritual stone of Kunlun, with extraordinary roots, but could he compare to Yin He, who was personally guided by the Heavenly Emperors? Could he, as a mere child, kill a true dragon?

Jiang Lin didn’t know whether to say Nezha’s strength was heaven-defying or that the dragons in this world were too weak.

Moreover… there were indeed too many unreasonable aspects in this plot.

Jiang Lin’s eyes grew dark as he let Qingluo and Xiao Pu guard him. He closed his eyes and began to meditate and adjust his breathing.

The Nine Spirit Technique was activated, gradually assimilating the power of the divine dragon within his body.

Under the cover of his clothes, those numerous wounds were healing at an incredible speed.

But this was only the external wounds.

Most of his dragon scales had been plucked off, and a considerable amount of his divine dragon essence had been lost.

If it weren’t for Jiang Lin coming over with the regenerative power of the Nine Spirit Technique, even if Ao Bing had survived without having his dragon tendons pulled out, his foundation would have been damaged, and it would have been difficult for him to make any progress.

Even with Jiang Lin’s intervention and the conversion of power using the method taught by Emperor Qing, he was now, at best, a “sick dragon” with great combat strength but an extremely fragile body.

This injury… it might take a long time to heal.

By the time Jiang Lin opened his eyes again, the wounds on his body had stopped bleeding. Although his face was still pale, it looked much better than the earlier grayish hue.

The battle over there was also nearing its end.

Jiang Lin had anticipated that Nezha would be strong. However, he was equally certain that Nezha could not be stronger than Yin He and Huaiyin.

Huaiyin sneered as she used her true form, a vine, to bind Nezha tightly. Upon closer inspection, Nezha’s body was covered in bruises, and blood stained the corners of his mouth. It was evident that neither Huaiyin nor Yin He had held back in the slightest.

Just as Nezha was tied up, the sea in the distance began to churn, and a massive gray dragon, shrouded in mist, approached, transforming into a kindly old man. It was Ao Guang, the Dragon King of the East Sea.

Upon seeing Jiang Lin, Ao Guang was shocked: “My son, how did you end up like this?”

As he examined Jiang Lin’s injuries more closely, the kind old man’s face suddenly turned furious: “Who hurt you?”

Jiang Lin did not answer directly but instead asked, “Father, why did you come here?”

The Dragon King replied, “I am the Lord of the East Sea; nothing that happens in this sea escapes my notice. With such a large fluctuation of spiritual energy here, how could I not come to check?”

Of course. Nothing in the East Sea could escape the perception of its lord, the Dragon King.

But then, why had the Dragon King not noticed when Nezha and the third prince of the Dragon King fought for so long in the East Sea? Why had the Dragon King not sensed it when Ao Bing was skinned and had his tendons pulled out within the East Sea in the original story? How could the Dragon King not feel his own kin suffering such torment?

Was the Dragon King lying?

No, he genuinely loved his son, and after Ao Bing’s death, the Dragon King even resorted to threatening human lives for revenge.

So then…

Jiang Lin’s gaze turned cold: someone wanted Ao Bing dead. They wanted to ensure that the Dragon King of the East Sea couldn’t sense it in time to save his son.

The Dragon Clan was powerful, but the Dragon King of the East Sea was still the Lord of the East Sea, the one who commanded thunder and rain. Not just anyone could easily conceal the heavenly secrets and deceive him.

All things considered…

Jiang Lin glanced up at the calm sky and let out a cold laugh.

He coughed, the intense pain from his injuries causing him to frown.

“Father, your son is gravely injured. Let’s return to the Dragon Palace first.”

Ao Guang was filled with concern for his son’s injuries and quickly nodded: “Of course.”

Then, with a sinister tone, he turned his head: “This brat, is he the one who hurt you? I see that his blood and spiritual energy are abundant. Why don’t you just devour him to heal your body?”

Jiang Lin frowned: “Father, where did this habit of eating people come from?”

Ao Guang awkwardly replied: “Isn’t it widely said that the Dragon Clan loves to eat people? Hmph, I can’t stand such slander. If they say I eat people, then I’ll eat people to show them!”

Jiang Lin: “…”

With a leader like this, no wonder the Dragon Clan in this world was being so easily manipulated.

He coldly said: “Nowadays, humanity is flourishing and possesses great fortune. Father, for the sake of the Dragon Clan, it would be best not to speak like this anymore.”

“Not only should you not say it, but you must also dispel these rumors. Let the humans know that we dragons do not eat people.”

In his excitement, he tugged at his wounds again, his face almost turning transparent with the pain.

Ao Guang was terrified by his son’s injuries and nodded repeatedly: “Whatever my son says, I’ll immediately issue the order. From now on, no one is allowed to speak of eating people, and these rumors will be eradicated!”

Nezha, who had been cursing the entire time, sneered as he listened to their conversation: “Pretending to be a good person now, are we? You weren’t so merciful when you tore that poor girl to pieces.”

Jiang Lin shot him a glance, annoyed by the noise.

Silently, Yin He reached out and knocked Nezha unconscious with a single slap.

Well done. Jiang Lin gave Yin He an approving look.

“Sir, what should we do with this brat?”

Jiang Lin, drenched in cold sweat from the pain, felt no pity for Nezha as a child. Any remnants of a nostalgic filter from his childhood had long been shattered.

“Toss him into the water dungeon and lock him up. He’s tough; he won’t die,” Jiang Lin snorted.

The water dungeon was the place where the Dragon Palace imprisoned its prisoners, and it was not a pleasant place.

Jiang Lin continued, “I need to enter seclusion to recover from my injuries. During this time, if Li Jing from Chentang Pass comes looking for his son, just tell him that I’m hosting his son as a guest at the Dragon Palace.”
