Ch 82: The Malevolent Monster Just Wants To Farm

Zong Yu looked at Huaiyin in confusion and asked, “How should I push?”

Huaiyin thought for a moment and said, “When I was younger, I was most fond of handsome young men. With your looks, you’re already very likable.”

After saying that one line, she left.

As Huaiyin walked through the immortal palace, she let out a long sigh.

Qingluo glanced at her but didn’t say anything.

Huaiyin sighed again.

Qingluo turned around and asked, “Why are you sighing?”

Huaiyin replied, “I took advantage of Master’s good temper and did something I probably shouldn’t have.”

Qingluo huffed angrily, “So, you do realize it!”

She was clearly upset. “My father’s feelings and who he chooses to be with—what does that have to do with you? Or with anyone else?”

“And besides, you’re my father’s spiritual plant, not Brother Zong Yu’s.”

Xiao Pu slowly emerged from the ground and nodded in agreement, “Yeah, yeah, we’re all Master’s spiritual plants.”

Huaiyin hesitated for a moment and then said, “But Master is very good to Lord Zong Yu, and they’re very well-matched.”

Qingluo sneered, “The Heavenly Emperor also thought my father and Sister Zhinu were well-matched. Huaiyin, what’s the difference between what you’re doing and what the Heavenly Emperor did?”

It was just a different way of expressing it.

Huaiyin was stunned and looked at Qingluo in a daze. “But, but…”

She believed that Zong Yu, with his strong bloodline and even stronger power, was an excellent match for Master. In her mind, serving a powerful chaos god-demon like Zong Yu, even becoming his subordinate, would be an honor.

And Zong Yu and Master had been close friends for many years; they understood each other very well. She genuinely believed they were a perfect match.

But Qingluo didn’t seem to think so. And Master certainly didn’t see it that way.

Qingluo, though she appeared to be a young girl and usually acted innocent and playful around Jiang Lin, was now very serious. “Huaiyin, I thought you’d understand my father better after all these years, but you really don’t.”

“I won’t say much more,” Qingluo continued. “But from now on, whatever you do, consider whether it’s what my father wants, whether it makes him happy.”

Xiao Pu didn’t quite understand the conversation, but he nodded earnestly.

Qingluo held Xiao Pu’s hand and turned to leave. As they walked away, she said, “Sister Huaiyin, my dad won’t be upset by what the Emperor said. But he sees you as family, and what you did will make him sad.”

Huaiyin stood there, stunned, watching the two figures, one big and one small, walk away.

She hadn’t thought of it that way before. After a while, she turned around, looking lost, only to meet a pair of equally conflicted eyes.

“Lord Zong Yu?” she exclaimed in surprise as she looked at him.

Zong Yu said to her, “This matter is my fault for involving you.”

Huaiyin shook her head. “No, Qingluo was right. My perspective really was wrong.”

Her face was pale. She had always prided herself on being highly observant and understanding people’s emotions, but now she realized that even Qingluo, such a young girl, was more perceptive than her.

When you think about it, how was what she did any different from what the Emperor had done?

Zong Yu’s expression was complicated. “I…”

Before he could finish his sentence, his face suddenly changed.

Two powerful auras descended upon Jiang Lin’s celestial palace.

When Emperor Qing and Emperor Yan arrived, Jiang Lin was just watching over his little treasure.

The presence of those two powerful auras seemed to startle the silver lotus, causing its bud to tremble slightly and then slowly begin to bloom.

One petal, then another…

The soft silver petals gradually unfolded, glowing gently.

“Hmm?” Suddenly, a figure appeared beside Jiang Lin.

Emperor Qing looked at the silver lotus with interest and asked, “Is this a new species that grew out of the Heavenly River? I’ve never seen anything like it.”

Jiang Lin replied, “It’s a new species I cultivated when I had nothing better to do.”

“Oh?” Emperor Qing looked at Jiang Lin in surprise, then laughed, “Good lad, not bad. What’s it called?”

“Yin He,” Jiang Lin replied. “Yin, as in silver, and He, as in lotus.”

Emperor Qing was silent for two seconds before finally speaking, “Very… descriptive and simple.”

Perhaps due to cultivating the Nine Spirits Technique, Jiang Lin felt a deep sense of affinity with Emperor Qing’s aura, which made him relax significantly.

He smiled and said, “Your Majesty doesn’t need to spare my feelings. I know my naming skills aren’t that great.”

Emperor Qing also smiled, looking at Jiang Lin, feeling that his trip to the Central Celestial Court had yielded an unexpected surprise.

“Meeting you is fate,” Emperor Qing said. “So, I’ll give this little guy a fortuitous opportunity.”

As he spoke, he raised the Eight Treasures Branch that he hadn’t yet put away and pointed it at the silver lotus from a distance. Eight-colored divine light flew from the branch and gently fell upon the silver lotus.

The silver lotus immediately seemed to grow more vibrant, its leaves shimmering even more brightly.

Although Jiang Lin didn’t know exactly what Emperor Qing had done, he knew that the Emperor had helped him, so he quickly said, “Thank you, Your Majesty, Emperor Qing.”

“Don’t be so formal,” Emperor Qing said with a smile. “You’ve cultivated my Nine Spirits Technique, so we share a bit of a master-disciple bond. I have many questions to ask you later.”

“And I have many questions to ask you,” a deep voice echoed from behind.

Emperor Yan strode over, first glancing at Jiang Lin, then at the silver lotus.

Without saying a word, he raised his hand and sent a stream of light from it.

The silver lotus, which had been blooming slowly, suddenly burst into a brilliant display, growing nearly half a meter taller!

Jiang Lin: “…”

Emperor Qing remarked, “Emperor Yan, you’re generous!”

Emperor Yan glanced at him and said, “I have many questions that I haven’t figured out yet, so I can’t let you steal the spotlight so easily.”

Jiang Lin stood quietly in place, almost bursting into laughter inside, secretly hoping the big shots would have even more questions. If they could grant a few more benefits to his precious silver lotus, that would be even better.

At that moment, the last petal of the lotus finally unfurled. The silver lotus quietly bloomed, each petal crystal clear, exuding a rich spiritual energy.

Emperor Qing’s eyes lit up. “This silver lotus is of no ordinary grade.”

As soon as he finished speaking, the void above the Milky Way trembled with a deep rumble, and the sound of rolling thunder echoed. A bolt of purple lightning struck directly down at the silver lotus!

Jiang Lin instinctively moved to block it, but a gentle force pushed him back, preventing him from intervening.

“Don’t worry. This is the silver lotus’s opportunity,” Emperor Qing calmly said in his ear.

Zong Yu also rushed over. Seeing that Jiang Lin was unharmed, he finally relaxed. He hesitated for a moment, then chose to stay where he was, watching from a distance.

The thunder struck forty-nine times in total, but the exquisite and beautiful silver lotus remained unscathed. In fact, after the lightning’s baptism, it became even more radiant, glowing with a dazzling brilliance.

Jiang Lin felt a connection with the silver lotus just as the last bolt of lightning fell. He focused his attention on it—seeing that the entire intricate, art-like silver lotus was enveloped in a soft silver light. The tall stalk suddenly shrank, vaguely transforming into a humanoid silhouette.

As the light faded completely, a silver-haired young man stood silently in the Milky Way, looking at Jiang Lin. His expression was neither joyful nor sad, his features flawless to the point where even the harshest critic couldn’t find a single flaw. His skin was as pale as cold jade, and he held a blooming silver lotus in his hand.

Standing there, he looked more like a perfect jade sculpture than a living person.

“Master,” the man said, his eyes devoid of emotion as he looked at Jiang Lin.

Jiang Lin, still processing what had just happened, asked, “Are you… the silver lotus?”

The man nodded. “Yes.”

Jiang Lin was momentarily speechless.

I nurtured this little treasure for so many years, and now, all of a sudden, it’s turned into a grown man. This is… intense.

The intensity of the situation left him struggling to accept it.

He said, “You… step out of the water first.”

“Yes.” The silver lotus responded, his form turning into a silver light and instantly appearing in front of Jiang Lin, staring at him unblinkingly.

He was dressed in a silver robe, without a trace of water on him.

Being stared at like this made Jiang Lin uncomfortable. He frowned slightly and said, “If there’s nothing else, you can go chat with others in the Immortal Palace or find a place to sit.”

“Yes.”

Others might not understand his complex feelings.

Emperor Qing nodded, “From his aura, his original form must be at the level of an innate spiritual treasure. Not bad.”

Emperor Yan nodded in agreement, “It seems my contribution was worth it.”

Jiang Lin: “…”

Then, the two powerful figures looked at him with burning eyes. “Jiang Lin, now it’s time for us to talk about serious matters, don’t you think?”
