Ch 45 (Part 2): Rebirth of the Tool Man in a Pampered Protagonist Novel

However, this answer didn’t seem to satisfy Xie Zheng as he had imagined.

Xie Zheng looked at Secretary Li with a slightly profound gaze.

“But I heard that your brother stays at the small villa until it gets dark every day and even cooks for Young Master Fang. Secretary Li, don’t you think there’s a problem with this?”

Secretary Li suddenly understood what his boss meant by asking this question.

He realized that his boss was suggesting that his brother was taking advantage of the situation and trying to entice Young Master Fang into a relationship!

He quickly explained, “Boss, you misunderstood. My brother just enjoys cooking, and Young Master Fang doesn’t want to order takeout, so he casually asked my brother to cook. My brother is interested in women and doesn’t have any thoughts about Young Master Fang…”

“Do you really understand your brother?”

Xie Zheng didn’t believe it at all. He looked at Secretary Li with a skeptical gaze.

Secretary Li quickly nodded, “Of course, we grew up together…”

But before he could finish speaking, he was interrupted.

Xie Zheng’s expression turned serious. “Secretary Li, from what I know, after you entered the company, due to work reasons, you haven’t had many opportunities to meet your brother in recent years. So… how do you know that his personality hasn’t changed during these years?”

Secretary Li replied, “Boss, it’s not like that. My brother genuinely likes women, and he has always been excellent in both character and academics.”

Xie Zheng looked at him.

Xie Zheng’s expression showed a look of “Don’t lie and hide things for your brother. I understand everything.”

“Okay, Secretary Li, you don’t need to be so nervous and explain. Actually, it’s normal for your brother to develop feelings. After all, Tang Xun’s brother, Fang Ziyang, is indeed very attractive. Even if your brother genuinely likes women, it wouldn’t be strange for someone to bend him.”

Secretary Li:…

Secretary Li really wanted to defend himself.

But his boss didn’t give him a chance.

Xie Zheng spoke with a solemn tone, “Secretary Li, it’s understandable that young people are impulsive and attracted to handsome boys. But you need to understand that Tang Xun’s brother is now under my care while Tang Xun is busy in the lab. I must take care of him.”

“Now, Fang Ziyang is in a crucial period of preparing for the college entrance examination, so it’s not suitable for him to be in a romantic relationship. If your brother really wants to pursue Fang Ziyang, tell him to wait until after this period. Otherwise, if someone around me is taking advantage of the situation, how am I going to explain it to Tang Xun?”

Secretary Li:…

Secretary Li’s mouth twitched, and he decided to give up explaining. “Thank you, Boss. I understand. Don’t worry, I’ll talk to my brother and ask him to be more careful.”

“Mhm.”

Xie Zheng was satisfied with this response and nodded.

However, at that moment, Secretary Li’s phone suddenly rang.

Since it wasn’t a meeting time, Secretary Li didn’t have many concerns and took out his phone. He then saw the name displayed on the screen—it was his brother.

Secretary Li had an instinctual feeling that something was amiss.

He raised his head and saw his boss blatantly peeking at him.

And then.

And then his boss, with no guilt or sense of morality for invading his employee’s privacy, confidently demanded, “Answer the call on speaker.”

Secretary Li didn’t dare to defy, so he answered the call with a forced smile and turned on the speakerphone.

Then, a cheerful voice came from the other end of the phone.

“Hey, brother. I won’t be coming home for dinner tonight. Ziyang said he’ll take me to a delicious roadside stall, and after dinner, we might go singing, so don’t bother me tonight. We might be playing all night…”

Since Li Xiao discovered that Fang Ziyang was better than him in computer technology, he treated Fang Ziyang as a same-age brother. They quickly became close friends, discussing studies, bragging, and enjoying their time together.

As soon as Secretary Li heard it, he felt doomed.

But before he could react, he heard Fang Ziyang’s voice from the other end of the line.

“Li Xiao, is the call over? Hurry up and come to take a shower and change clothes. That roadside stall is very popular, and if we go late, we’ll have to wait in a long line… Hurry up. Oh, wait, when you come, bring me a towel, it’s on the bed…”

Then Li Xiao’s voice sounded again, “Alright, I’ll be right there.”

“Okay, hurry up. It’s all your fault. I said I didn’t want to do it anymore, but you insisted. Now my legs can hardly move, and my back…”

“It’s okay, it’s normal to feel uncomfortable the first time. It’ll get better after the pain, just get used to it…”

“Yeah, it’s actually quite comfortable. I didn’t expect your skills to be this good…”

“Hehe, of course.”

Accompanied by the sound of rushing water from the shower, the call ended, and the suggestive conversation came to a halt.

Secretary Li nervously held his phone, his expression guilty as he looked at Xie Zheng.

Xie Zheng’s gaze was sharp as he looked at him.

Secretary Li was sweating profusely. “Um, Boss, I think I can explain…”

“You just said that your brother likes women and is academically excellent.”

Xie Zheng’s voice didn’t reveal any emotions, but the air around them felt cold.

Secretary Li felt like crying. “Actually, Boss, you’re right. Young Master Fang is good-looking, so it’s not strange that my brother’s feelings changed.”

“They’ve only known each other for less than a week.”

Xie Zheng stared at Secretary Li without expression.

Secretary Li:…

Secretary Li felt like he was going to die.

Ten minutes later.

A black Maybach raced down the road leading to the suburban villa.

Secretary Li wore a miserable expression as he drove in front.

Xie Zheng sat in the back seat, emitting a black aura, his eyes filled with anger, as if he was about to catch a cheating couple.

Xie Zheng was furious.

He felt deceived.

At first, he had a negative impression of Fang Ziyang, thinking that he was a foolish and naive person blinded by emotions, a troublemaker and a bit of a audacious little devil.

But what happened later changed his perception.

He realized that his view of Fang Ziyang might have been too one-sided, based on information that could be checked, with suspicions of hearsay. He felt ashamed of his biased opinion.

Fang Ziyang wasn’t the unbearable and unlikable person that he seemed based on rumors and appearances.

So what if he fell for that idiot Tang Wenxu? It’s normal for a teenager who hasn’t entered society to be deceived.

At the time, Xie Wenxu’s determination to give up his inheritance made him almost believe it was true. Fang Ziyang, being young, fell for the sincerity and enthusiasm. There was nothing strange about it. It only showed how pure-hearted he was.

Translated on ho lo lo novels dot com.

As for Fang Ziyang’s temper, recklessness, and propensity for getting into trouble, it turned out it wasn’t entirely his fault.

The development of such a temper was all the result of his father, Fang Yandong’s deliberate upbringing. Surrounded by such malicious wolves, Fang Ziyang had only become a bit of a spendthrift, but he hadn’t truly turned into an overbearing and unruly prodigal. This further demonstrated how pure-hearted this young man was!

And… the incident where Fang Ziyang forcefully kissed him wasn’t that simple either.

He did it out of desperation, facing an imposing ‘enemy’ like Xie Zheng, as a means to threaten and intimidate him for self-preservation.

Just like a hedgehog, raising prickly spines that no one dared to touch in order to survive.

Doing everything to protect oneself.

However…

However, Xie Zheng now felt that he might have been presumptuous.

Although from what he unintentionally overheard, it seemed that Secretary Li’s brother was the one with the problem, actively taking advantage of the situation and luring Fang Ziyang.

But listening to their conversation just now, it seemed like Fang Ziyang was quite willing!

What did that mean?

It meant that both parties were equally willing.

But how could this be!

Fang Ziyang had just turned eighteen and had just escaped from Xie Wenxu’s scheme. And now, he was falling into another pit. To get intimate with someone within a week of meeting them… it was just foolish!

Moreover, he was about to take the college entrance examination. Did Fang Ziyang still want to go to university while being in a romantic relationship? What happened to him being a good little brother to his brother? Is this the way to do it!

The most outrageous thing was that the person involved was his hired tutor. He brought this wolf into their house. How was he going to explain this to Tang Xun?

Young people these days are simply outrageous!

Xie Zheng’s face was pitch black.

He completely failed to realize that his attitude towards an employee or a brother’s family member had gone too far.

On the other side.

Completely unaware of the impending “caught in the act” scenario, Fang Ziyang had just finished showering and came out of the bathroom.

Rubbing his sore waist and legs, he looked at Li Xiao, who was tidying up a pile of peculiar tools, with admiration.

“Li Xiao, I really didn’t expect you to have this kind of skill. It’s a bit painful, but it feels really good. Did you learn this technique from a famous old Chinese doctor?”

Fang Ziyang was genuinely impressed.

When he first met Li Xiao, he thought this guy’s personality would be as introverted and nerdy as his appearance, someone who only studied and was good with computers.

But after getting to know him, he realized that Li Xiao was the kind of person whose personality was completely different from his appearance.

Despite his mild-mannered appearance, once they got familiar, he would crack jokes, brag, make vulgar jokes, and play around without holding back, a person who didn’t mince words.

And most importantly, Li Xiao was not only a great cook, but he was also skilled in other areas, and one of them was what he had just experienced.

Since his rebirth, Fang Ziyang had been busy studying, organizing information about his golden finger, and planning for revenge. He hadn’t been exercising for a while, and his body had become stiff and sore.

Yesterday, after Li Xiao found out, he brought a bunch of peculiar tools today, saying that he would help Fang Ziyang with stretching and cupping.

Of course, Fang Ziyang knew about these traditional Chinese medicine techniques.

But just by looking at Li Xiao’s face, which was only a couple of years younger than his own, he felt it was unreliable and had a sense of being treated like a guinea pig.

However, Li Xiao persuaded him and he reluctantly gave it a try. To his surprise, Li Xiao’s stretching and cupping techniques were unexpectedly good! It felt even better than going to a famous traditional Chinese medicine doctor in a big hospital.

Li Xiao felt proud when he heard the praise.

“Haha, that’s right. You’re correct. My skills were learned from a hermit master of traditional Chinese medicine! And that person is none other than my grandfather. He’s famous as a miracle doctor in our hometown. He can cure all kinds of difficult illnesses…”

Wait, is this the flag for preventing Xie Zheng’s death? He’s supposed to die from an illness no?

    Thanks for the chapter ~🌸

    1. Elli says:

Was it? No wonder he didn’t look for Ziyang and their child…

    2. Morian says:

No, he died because of a car accident. I think you mistake it for another novel.

That aside, he should’ve known who he f*cked cuz he’s the one who woke up first after the deed. Yet he never helps MC in any way or at least confronts him about it before he died (which is why I’m still raising my eyebrow at the fact he’s the ML).

      1. Lemon says:

If he died before he could clarify things, then it’s understandable..

Also Tang Xun is supposed to help Ziyang from obstacles.. But he didn’t try to recover the original bullying footage in either timeline.. Can’t understand why because he was still alive at that point..

      2. Aiyo says:

Ikr the timeline confuses me too. Did he have the accident after the deed or before the deed? If after then perhaps the ‘father of the child’ who took revenge was Rick… considering both Tang Xun and Xie Zeng were both dead already…

Also Tang Xun wasn’t supposed to help Ziyang. He was supposed to help Fang Qianhao. It was just that he felt a bit willfull and felt that he had to take care of Ziyang too. But even then he only protected Ziyang silently. He had just returned to China when he learned about the internet bullying, and before he could do something, Ziyang had already responded on weibo.

  2. M&M's says:

I just knew that when Secretary Li answered his brother’s phone call that there would be questionable conversations on the other end, lol. I thought Li Xiao was just massaging Fang Ziyang, and it was pretty close, so I can’t wait to see Xie Zheng’s reaction when he meets them and after he learns the truth, lol.

    Thanks for the chapter! 😀
