Chapter 101: Busy Farming in the Last Days

When they got outside, Ji Cha saw two cars parked there. Qin Shuang walked in front and sat in the driver’s seat of one of the cars, then leaned out and waved to them, “Captain Liang, Cha Cha, I’ll go first.”

Ji Cha, standing next to Liang Jincheng like a little chick, hurriedly said, “Hey, aren’t you riding in the same car with us?”

Qin Shuang didn’t know Ji Cha’s thoughts, but she wasn’t stupid. At this time, she couldn’t accompany Ji Cha to court danger. She raised her eyebrows at Ji Cha and gave him a look that said “good luck,” “I still have to go back and deal with things here. You go back and have dinner with Captain Liang first.”

After speaking, Qin Shuang drove away without looking back.

Ji Cha felt sad in his heart, and with the low-pressure Liang Jincheng beside him, he felt that his time was probably running out.

Liang Jincheng didn’t say anything either. He took Ji Cha to the passenger side, opened the car door for him, and then shoved him in, before walking around to the driver’s seat and opening the door to get in.

“Wait!” When Ji Cha saw him starting the car and getting ready to leave, he quickly stopped Liang Jincheng.

Liang Jincheng’s dark pupils instantly fixed on his face.

Ji Cha was not usually afraid of Liang Jincheng, but at this time, the other party was clearly angry, and he was the one who had made the mistake first. Ji Cha felt very guilty and his voice and momentum both decreased.

“My scooter, the one that came here earlier, I don’t know where it went now.”

Liang Jincheng still started the car when he heard this, only saying, “I’ll let Qin Shuang help you find it later.”

He didn’t know where they had taken his little electric scooter, but now that Ji Cha was in danger, he couldn’t even worry much about it.

At this time, it was already so dark outside that one could barely see their hand in front of their face. Furthermore, this area was rather remote and lacked any public lighting equipment. As the car slowly drove forward, only the headlights illuminated the road.

Squeezing the seat belt, Ji Cha felt that the atmosphere in the car was eerily quiet. It was better to admit his mistake and make a full confession, perhaps it could even ease Liang Jincheng’s anger.

“To be honest, I didn’t think too much when I came over this time. I originally planned to take a look and listen to the wind, but…”

“But you didn’t think about your own safety and the possible danger. You didn’t even give a warning before running over here like a lone hero.” Liang Jincheng finished the latter half of Ji Cha’s sentence, his voice becoming increasingly cold.

Ji Cha opened his mouth, subconsciously wanting to refute a little, but when he opened his mouth, he realized that he had no stance to argue against what Liang Jincheng just said. He really did do something brainless.

Ji Cha lowered his head and whispered, “I know I was wrong, please don’t be angry.”

Liang Jincheng simply stopped the car.

“Chacha, you need to know, I was very worried about you,” Liang Jincheng said.

Ji Cha was already feeling guilty and weak-willed, and hearing Liang Jincheng’s words only made things worse. He almost wanted to swear to Liang Jincheng that he would never act recklessly again, and that he would always tell him about anything and everything, and they would discuss and decide together before taking action.

Liang Jincheng reached over and released Ji Cha’s seat belt, then effortlessly lifted him onto his lap like a feather. Fortunately, the car was spacious enough that even with two grown men squeezed into the driver’s seat, there was no problem.

Despite the fact that there was no one around in this dark and secluded place, Ji Cha still felt a sense of shyness and reluctance to engage in inappropriate behavior in such a public setting, sitting in a car where every direction was glass.

Ji Cha tried to stand up, pressing on Liang Jincheng’s shoulder, “Someone might come here…”

However, Liang Jincheng’s hand had already pressed against the back of Ji Cha’s head, pressing his lips to his own, and then kissing him passionately. When Ji Cha was trapped earlier, he felt like he had a lot of strength, but when he met Liang Jincheng, that strength was nothing, almost like a mantis trying to stop a cart.

After Liang Jincheng had vented his desire, Ji Cha was left dizzy and disoriented, barely able to even realize that Liang Jincheng’s hand was still on his waist.

Liang Jincheng breathed heavily, and his eyes had changed color due to his ability. In this situation, his pupils were especially prominent and almost glowed red with desire.

Ji Cha’s head was pressed against Liang Jincheng’s shoulder, with several buttons on his collar undone, and his chin and neck bearing several bite marks. In the past, Ji Cha could never handle any kind of intimacy, as Liang Jincheng’s ability was too strong. Even metals became as soft as cotton in his presence.

Ji Cha was not made of metal, and his fragile human body made Liang Jincheng not only have to take this into account, but also the overwhelming feeling of wanting to do him with all his might. As a result, it was very difficult for Liang Jincheng to control the strength of his intimacy with Ji Cha.

However, after being together for so long, not only could Liang Jincheng accurately control his strength, but even Ji Cha had greatly improved his resistance.

He himself had not thought about it, but maybe his increased strength and physical fitness were related to this aspect of things.

Ji Cha slowly came back to his senses. He moved away from Liang Jincheng and asked in a low voice, “You’re not angry anymore, are you?”

Liang Jincheng was already finding it hard to be angry with Ji Cha, let alone when Ji Cha had clearly softened his attitude. He couldn’t even bring himself to raise his voice.

Although Liang Jincheng didn’t say anything, his aura clearly softened. Ji Cha could feel it, so he smiled with a lifted corner of his mouth in the darkness.

He leaned his head on Liang Jincheng’s shoulder and said, “I’m a bit hungry, can we go home first?”

Only then did Liang Jincheng let go and patted Ji Cha’s butt, moving him to the back seat. “Now you feel hungry?”

“I’ve been hungry for a while,” muttered Ji Cha.

Liang Jincheng wasn’t angry anymore, so he became a bit more daring.

They changed the topic again.

“I really didn’t expect such bold things to happen in the base. I thought the management in the base was already strict enough.”

“When there is interest, it will breed illegal activities. When the interest reaches a sufficient level, anything and anyone can happen,” Liang Jincheng said calmly compared to Ji Cha’s surprise.

“I know, but I always thought that at least it would take some time, not so soon…” Ji Cha sighed. The current base situation was so much better than in his past life, it made him idealize it.

He also talked to Liang Jincheng about Xiao Rou, “I don’t know if she volunteered or was forced into it by something else, but I think there will always be someone who might volunteer for this kind of thing. How should we handle it? We can’t stop them, can we?”

“Cha Cha,” Liang Jincheng interrupted Ji Cha’s thoughts. “You have done enough. No one is perfect. Even if they chose this path, it is not your responsibility.”

Compared to Ji Cha, Liang Jincheng had always been very relaxed about the base. If it wasn’t for a stable environment being more beneficial for Ji Cha, and if it wasn’t the stable environment Ji Cha wanted, the value of the S city base to Liang Jincheng would not be so great. The other residents of the base, even the people in the factory, were not as important to Liang Jincheng as Ji Cha’s little finger.

In fact, there are two paths to ability evolution. The good path is Liang Jincheng, and the bad path is the zombies, but they both share one thing in common – they are both moving away from the path of normal human beings.

Moving away from the human identity also means gradually distancing oneself from humanity. Human society’s rules no longer apply to them. Take the Ability Team, for example. Rather than being a collection of human beings, they are more like animals, because they do not follow human social hierarchy and order. The Ability Team respects the strong, and while Liang Jincheng’s age and experience may be far inferior to others in the Ability Team, his strength is unquestionable, and no one can challenge him.

Therefore, he can demand that the members of the Ability Team follow the order of the base under his control, and he can require them to respect and obey Ji Cha, an ordinary person who is incredibly weak in the eyes of those with abilities.

Ji Cha was Liang Jincheng’s only emotional attachment with a sentimental side.

“I know, but sometimes I can’t help but want to do more,” Ji Cha lay on the back seat, and the car restarted. “Maybe it’s because I have too much now, and I’m too lucky.”

The Ability Team acted very quickly, and within two days, they had checked everything related to the incident and all the people involved. As expected, there were people involved in the upper echelon, and there were both voluntary and involuntary female victims. All of the non-voluntary victims were protected first. As for those who were willing to give their bodies to gain survival, they were temporarily released.

To be honest, if they insist on taking this path, there is actually no way for the base to stop them. After all, where there is a loophole, there will always be a way to exploit it, and this is not something that can be fully controlled.

In the end, this matter was left unresolved. The base strengthened its monitoring and processing of related incidents, and strictly prohibited coercive control behavior.

Opinions within the base were divided on this issue, and in such an atmosphere, the second New Year in the base arrived.

Compared with last year’s New Year, the base’s conditions this year can be said to be several times richer. The New Year’s canteen is still open, and the farm has sent out broadcasts in advance, opening up the sale of food to ordinary residents. Outside the farm, there are daily scheduled market vendors, catering to families who want to cook and experience the festive atmosphere during the New Year.

There are almost no restrictions on the quantity and variety of food, as long as people have the money and willingness to do so, they can have a table of food that is comparable to that before the apocalypse.

At the same time, in sharp contrast, the other bases outside S Base did not have such a good time. This winter, the particularly cold weather and shortage of food were two deadly killers.

Yeah… Safety first ChaCha… Anyways, you have your husband to worry about and do all those… To lessen the burden, just give yourself to him 🤣

Honestly. The power move they could have made from this is to make a policy towards pr*stitution and enforce laws abt it.

Cuz theyve said it, even if they make a law against it, there will still be people willing to do it. So, rather than making a law against something (just to make the situation worse bc its done underground where one’s less secure about their own safety and have a fixed payment), why not make a law so that the people volunteering to do those works are safeguarded rather than treated as criminals.

And thus, people paying for their services get what they want, people providing those services get paid what they want, and the people managing the stuff get what they want.

It’s a win-win situation. Even if many people get offended by it bc “oh the world is degenerating” wut they gonna do? Its the end of the world

        True

Yeah, I was hoping to see something like that happen. Cause in that kind of society, where women are scarce and a lot of men want such services; to the point where a large part of the population is dissatisfied by the crackdown, the most effective solution is to start an organization for it run by the women themselves, where only 100% willing participants work, and the management of the base regularly checks to make sure everything is safe and clean and voluntary. And at the same time, establish the harshest penalties for those who try to do it illegally, and anyone who coerces women is expelled from the base altogether.
