Ch 35 (Part 1): Rebirth of the Tool Man in a Pampered Protagonist Novel

Tang Xun, one of the most outstanding young mathematicians in China in recent years.

Before the age of fifteen, apart from being an outstanding top student with excellent grades, his background and upbringing were quite ordinary. Growing up abroad since childhood, he remained unknown in the country.

However, when he submitted an article to the World Mathematical Gazette at the age of fifteen, his name resounded throughout the academic world.

Afterward, under the introduction of his academic sponsor, Tang Xun became the first Fields Medal laureate in China and a student of the renowned mathematician Zhou. Then, he disappeared from the public eye. (The Fields Medal is a prestigious international mathematics award.)

But it didn’t take long.

Tang Xun’s name resurfaced again a few years later when, at the age of only seventeen, he independently proved the Goldbach Conjecture, shocking the entire world. His mathematical talent was extraordinary, and it reshaped the world’s perception of China’s mathematicians.

There were people who wanted to know Tang Xun’s IQ score, but unfortunately, such data had been classified as confidential by the government.

The only thing everyone knew was that Tang Xun had a very high IQ.

However, what surprised everyone even more was that after this appearance, Tang Xun disappeared once again!

It wasn’t until last year that Tang Xun reappeared, this time as a key technical researcher at “New World Technology Company.”

At this point, everyone finally understood why this small company, which had only been registered for a few years, could quickly rise to become a hot technology company. Its software, games, and technological products quickly dominated the market with cutting-edge technology.

There was no other way; if they could hire such a genius mathematician to join their research team, they too could become a dark horse.

Some people attempted to poach him, offering various temptations, but all their attempts failed.

Some even directly asked Tang Xun what it would take for him to switch jobs. However, Tang Xun was a person who valued loyalty and friendship. The reason why he wholeheartedly worked for New World Technology Company was simply that the company’s owner had been his academic sponsor.

Although some felt regret and envy, as Tang Xun himself put it, “If it weren’t for the discerning eye of my sponsor and their unwavering support, I wouldn’t have achieved what I have today. Without them, I might have been leading a mediocre life in some corner.”

Even high IQ needs nurturing; otherwise, it’s just a wasted talent…

Tang Xun’s life experience was simply legendary.

And Tang Xun’s background, not to mention his mysterious boss, just his status as one of China’s youngest mathematicians, was enough to deter most people.

National treasures like him, who excelled in scientific research, were highly valued by the country.

So when everyone heard the name Tang Xun at this moment, they couldn’t help but inhale sharply.

Recalling his arrogant behavior just now, they no longer found it problematic. With Tang Xun’s status, let alone hitting Fang Qianhao, he could easily handle Fang Yandong!

Fang Qianhao was unlucky to have received this beating. If the Fang family decided to trouble Tang Xun afterward…

Well, even if they considered the mysterious boss behind him, the country would be the first to intervene, not to mention that no one died from a few slaps. For a high-end talent like Tang Xun, who could make significant contributions to the country, couldn’t the Fang family, a small business, just endure a bit?

And what about using online public opinion against him?

Even if they were brainless, Tang Xun didn’t rely on reputation like a celebrity for a living. He rarely appeared in public.

So Fang Qianhao’s plan today was truly a case of kicking an iron plate.

Everyone secretly sympathized with him.

As for Fang Ziyang, when he heard Tang Xun’s name, his mind was filled with shockwaves, and memories that he hadn’t paid much attention to before resurfaced.

Tang Xun? It’s actually Tang Xun?

Didn’t Tang Xun die in the HC1325 airplane crash in the previous life?

He remembered it very clearly. The reason why the HC1325 airplane crash caused such a sensation was also due to the inclusion of Tang Xun, the national treasure-level scientific genius, on the list of casualties.

Tang Xun’s death was an enormous loss for the entire China.

In the previous life, there were even conspiracy theories circulating online, speculating if it was a plot by some other country, jealous of China producing such a genius, resorting to extreme measures to prevent China’s technological advancement.

However, in the end, it was proven that the HC1325 airplane incident was indeed an accident, and everyone felt deeply saddened and regretful…

The reason why Fang Ziyang felt so heavy-hearted upon hearing the news of the airplane crash was partly due to this.

If Tang Xun had stayed alive in the previous life, even with Yan Tong’s golden finger, it would have been impossible for Xie Wenxu to rise to the throne of a technological genius. What was Xie Wenxu? With his golden finger, he spent so long researching and only achieved minimal results.

Tang Xun’s death in the previous life was truly a tremendous loss for the scientific community in Huaguo.

However, now that Tang Xun was still alive, what went wrong?

Fang Ziyang was truly shocked.

Could the butterfly effect be so powerful? Did his small act of provocation here cause a storm thousands of miles away? It’s not that he was being self-centered; it was just too coincidental.

Fang Ziyang stared at Tang Xun in astonishment, his expression dumbfounded.

Tang Xun couldn’t help but smile again when he saw his expression.

Seizing the opportunity while Fang Ziyang was dazed, Tang Xun discreetly plucked a strand of his hair, a movement so quick that no one noticed, and only then did he call back the mesmerized young man.

“You’re a good kid, and you’re intelligent and outstanding. Don’t feel bad for those who don’t care about you.”

“Do whatever you want to do. Only by trying will you know the outcome. It’s getting late today, so go home early. Don’t stay out too late. We’ll meet again soon. Take care of yourself.”

With a hint of reluctance, Tang Xun withdrew his hand from Fang Ziyang’s soft hair and gave him a simple reminder before quickly leaving.

The warm and gentle words echoed in Fang Ziyang’s ears, leaving him stunned for a while before reacting.

Those two sentences were spoken close to his ear, and no one else heard them.

People around them whispered and speculated about the relationship between Tang Xun and Fang Ziyang since Tang Xun seemed to be familiar with the young master of the Fang family.

Zhou Jun remained calm, pondering over Tang Xun’s intentions with his attitude.

Zhao Jingyu, on the other hand, excitedly ran up, full of enthusiasm. “Ziyang, is he really Tang Xun? The famous Tang Xun we know? No wonder I thought he looked familiar. Turns out he’s a celebrity! Ahhh, Ziyang, what did he say to you just now? He seemed so gentle!”

Indeed, he was quite gentle, making people feel a sense of closeness.

Fang Ziyang wanted to nod, but seeing Zhao Jingyu’s infatuated expression, he decided to keep his thoughts to himself. He was afraid that if he revealed what he was thinking, his infatuated friend would immediately start thinking of all sorts of absurd possibilities.

“He just didn’t like how Fang Qianhao bullied his younger brother. It’s as simple as that. Stop thinking about handsome guys and pretty girls all the time. Let’s go, let’s go home and raise the money. We need to come back to the venue tomorrow to make the payment and sign the land contract!”

With a sigh, Fang Ziyang playfully patted Zhao Jingyu’s head and hurriedly sent both of his friends home.

Tomorrow, they had to come back to make the payment, and there were still more troubles to face. It was going to be a tough battle, and he needed to rest well. How could he confront those enemies if he didn’t get enough rest?

They successfully purchased the land in the western suburbs.

Zhou Jun and Zhao Jingyu were also excited. Although they didn’t engage in strenuous physical activity today, the ups and downs of emotions during the auction and the tense atmosphere left them exhausted.

They nodded, lacking the energy for any nightlife activities. After the driver dropped Fang Ziyang off at his home, they each went to their own homes.

Fang Ziyang didn’t return to the Fang family villa but to the small villa where he secretly resided.

Jokingly, after all the “good deeds” he had done today, leaving upright and returning sideways, Fang Yandong was definitely furious, and Fang Qianhao was certainly furious as well. He would be out of his mind to return to the stormy waters at a time like this.

Fang Ziyang was now an expert in adapting to different situations.

In fact, Fang Ziyang’s speculations were not entirely wrong.

When Fang Yandong saw Fang Qianhao being carried back lying down and heard the reports of what happened at the auction, he was not just furious but had an impulse to destroy the world.

His younger son not only didn’t buy the rough stone he had prepared with connections in advance but also spent eight billion extravagantly on worthless land at the auction?

Like Fang Qianhao, when Fang Yandong heard the news, he felt like he wanted to die on the spot.

He didn’t know that Fang Ziyang had arranged the funds for the land purchase himself. His first reaction was that he wanted to die!

It’s clear that Tang Xun also inherited the high IQ of the Lu family, lol. I never thought he was a mathematician, though, because his demeanor always gave me the impression of a businessman. Either way, it’s good he’s got the backing of the nation because Fang Yandong wouldn’t dare to touch him now, lol.

    Thanks for the chapter! 😀
